Over the last month, I have been working on a Flash video for miCARD, a company that sells medical information cards for use in case of an accident. It’s a very interesting concept, and it’s not a bad deal either at under $30 a year. Anyway, enough sales pitch. We began the video with a simulated car accident, followed by an explanation of miCARD’s features. The highlight of the video, though, is undoubtedly the fictional “Bill” who, out for a walk with his dog, becomes unconscious and needs swift medical attention. We had great fun illustrating and animating the man and his cute French Bulldog, creating them in such a way that we’d feel some sort of connection. Here’s a still:
We took care to keep the video serious enough– it is about medical emergencies, after all– while at the same time keeping it somewhat lighthearted and hip, if that makes sense. We didn’t want to replicate the sensational, over-serious advertisements often seen for this type of product. I believe we came out with a stellar product.
The video can be viewed at miCARD’s website.
